We will keep you all informed.Thinking about redoing your kitchen this year, or a little upgrade to your master bath? Maybe you’d like to add a fire pit to your patio? Whatever improvements you’re thinking about making to your home, you’ll find ideas for that and so much more at the Original Western Mass Home and Garden Show.

One of the largest home and garden shows on the Eastern Seaboard, this year’s three-day show will be held March 26-29, 2020 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Celebrating its 67th year, the show will feature 755 booths in two buildings and an outdoor area that will display everything from jacuzzis to garden tractors.

“It’s all the stuff that people need,” said Andrew Crane, Executive Director of the Homebuilders and Remodeling Association Of Western Mass who owns and runs the show. The former building contractor said he first became involved with the show over 20 years ago because his clients would go “even if they didn’t need anything.”

“They just liked to look around,” he said, adding that last year, approximately 16,000 visitors attended the show.

There will even be a variety of products for purchase, with vendors selling everything from mops to skincare to beer nuts. “It’s nice to have a small mixture of things for folks to purchase,” said Crane. “It keeps things interesting.”

One of the vendors at this year’s show is the Swenson Granite Works store in South Hadley who will raffle off a granite mailbox post, including local delivery and installation. They’ll also be offering Home Show attendees a 10% off coupon to be used at the South Hadley store location only through April 30th.

The store, which opened two years ago, brings locally-sourced, natural stone products to Western Massachusetts as a heartier — and more beautiful — alternative to wood and concrete products. The store offers a variety of granite products, including steps, pavers, mailbox and lamp posts, curbing, edging, coping, cap, trim, natural stone veneers and ornamental products including granite benches, bird baths, chess tables, fire pits, fountains, compasses and sundials.

Crane said he’s seen an increase in hardscape vendors, which he attributed to increased attention to outdoor living spaces. Displays will include outdoor ponds, fountains, sheds and even swimming pools.

Highlights will include a plumbing truck hooked up to running water where visitors can try out their favorite faucets and toilets. There will also be wallpaper and painting demos, as well as cooking demos by local restaurants whipping up their specialties and opportunities to sample the cooking.

There will be several giveaways, including a kitchen upgrade and $10,000 prize from WMAS Radio; six pairs of Boston baseball tickets from Rock 102/Lazer 99.3; and a $25,000 Home Makeover from I-Heart Radio.

“It’s really a social event,” said Crane. “A lot of people just like walking around, looking at the products and seeing what’s new.”
